Hike for Garbage
Summit with a Purpose
On May 16, team members from Loon stepped up for the annual Hike for Garbage event. With boots laced and gloves on, Loon team members fanned out across trails, lift lines, parking lots, base areas, and mountain peaks to collect litter and protect the landscape they call home.
This year’s cleanup resulted in the removal of more than 870 gallons of waste. Of that, over 450 gallons were recyclable materials, while roughly 420 gallons were sorted as landfill waste. Items were carefully gathered, sorted, and properly disposed of—demonstrating Loon’s ongoing commitment to being a steward in the White Mountain National Forest.
Looking Ahead
The momentum doesn’t stop here. Loon’s next cleanup is scheduled for late September along the scenic Kancamagus Highway.
